Arsenal To Focus On Edinson Cavan If Vardy Turns Down Move To Emirates Stadium

Arsenal will turn their attention to Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani if Jamie Vardy rejects a move to the Emirates, according to Express Sport.
The Gunners triggered Vardy's £20m release clause, offering him a four year deal worth £120,000 per week and were hoping to have his decision before he joined Roy Hodgson's England squad and jetted off to France for Euro 2016.

After receiving a counter-offer of comparable financial terms from Leicester City, Vardy delayed his decision until after England's involvement in Euro 2016.

Should Vardy opt against joining Arsenal and stay at Leicester this summer, Arsene Wenger will offer Cavani the same £120,000 per week to move to the Premier League amid interest from China.

The Uruguay international has reportedly already turned down a deal worth £500,000 per week from a Chinese club.

Arsenal remain on the market for an elite forward and Cavani is being tipped to follow Zlatan Ibrahimovic out of the exit door at PSG this summer.
Cavani scored 25 goals in 52 appearances last summer although he remained second fiddle to Ibrahimovic who was PSG's preferred central forward.

Arsenal could offer the 29-year-old the importance he has been craving at the Parc des Princes since joining the Parisians.
