Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was subjected to a terrifying sex assault in the lit of a block of flats.
The incident happened last Tuesday, May 31, at a block of flats in Marsh Drive, in Barnet.
The victim was followed into the lift by a man who then grabbed her and molested her.
The terrified woman managed to escape when the lift doors opened, and the suspect then ran off towards Tyrrel Way.
Police described the suspect as a slim, black man, aged in his early 20s of slim build.
At the time of the attack he was wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket.
A man was arrested yesterday in connection with the investigation, and has been bailed to a date in late July.
Detectives have said they are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information about the incident.
Detective Sergeant Jim Christie of Barnet CID said: "I would particularly appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the crime to come forward and speak to police.
"This was a frightening assault; please contact police if you saw anything suspicious or have any information."
