England Squad Travel To France Ahead Of Euro 2016

England are on their way to Euro 2016 after jetting off to France this afternoon.
Roy Hodgson's squad boarded their private airplane at Luton airport, making time to pose for the customary photographs beforehand, and are currently en route to their tournament base in Chantilly, 25 miles north of Paris.
The Three Lions' opening Group game is against Russia on Saturday afternoon and the players appeared to be in high spirits as they began their journey with the nation's hopes and expectations in tow.
An announcement in regards to Leicester striker Jamie Vardy's future was expected before the squad departed but the 29-year-old's proposed move to Arsenal is not yet complete after he linked up with the rest of his teammates and took to the sky.

Hodgson waved to the cameras, captain Wayne Rooney offered a simple thumbs up and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli produced his trademark cheeky smile.
The entire 23-man squad was kitted out in their specially designed Marks & Spencer suits, ensuring that the players left in style.

Whether they will arrive back in similar fashion after the tournament remains to be seen.

Hodgson has vowed to set his side up to attack in France this summer but a lacklustre display against Portugal in the side's final warm-up game has done little to heighten expectation. England face Wales and Slovakia as well as Russia in Group B and are aiming to reach the latter stages of the competition for the first time since football almost came home - before being abruptly halted by Germany - 20 years ago.
